September 2008 Purpose With Passion
In the August newsletter “How I Do What I Do…And When I Do It” I gave you some insights as to how I use my abilities based upon how I am prompted to do so by Divine Guidance. In this month’s newsletter I wanted to elaborate, in my own words, as to what happens as I receive the information while I am connecting with another soul when meeting them casually for the first time.
First of all, I want to point out the fact that I understand the interest, the skepticism, the fear, the doubt, the curiosity about intuitive abilities as I have had to deal with various levels of these thoughts not only my own but from friends, family, lovers and strangers throughout my life. I will state for the record that I am well aware that there are people in the world who claim to be able to do remarkable things, whether it be to heal others by their faith or by surgery, by counseling or with their money. A person wearing the cloth, psychics, mediums, clairvoyants and the like are no different as we are all human beings.
I am able to receive various forms of information from God (Universal Divine Guidance) and I serve as I am prompted to do the intuitive work when it is designated to me. I know that I am doing the work that was born in the heart of my soul. Some people would say it is the work they were born to do ~ they have passion, a knowing, and a strong desire that no matter what they have to do the work or life would not be complete without it. Some people feel that way about loving another person or having a child or rescuing an animal that was abandoned in a parking lot in a snowstorm. Whatever the movement is for you, I hope that at some point in your life you will come to know exactly what that purpose with passion is in your life. No amount of money can buy you this peace and I believe that no human love will be able to provide it to you as I believe we are made in the image of the Divine and that we are seeking to find that wholeness again, The One.
Now ~ moving on to what happens…
When I meet someone for the first time, whether it be a friend introducing me to their colleague or meeting someone for a first date, I remain fairly open to the situation and listen to what they say and enjoy the conversation. As the person shares their day, their dreams, their concerns, for example, I actually see a video playing (off to the side and above them) showing me their day, just like you would watch a movie unfold before your eyes. Even though I look away to see glimpses of the movie as they are speaking with me I usually keep my eyes focused on them for the most part of the conversation. So, to put it in a few words, I am always watching a movie when someone is speaking to me in person or on the telephone and I receive impressions laced with information and feelings while watching this movie. During the conversation my questions are usually based upon what I am seeing in the movie or if a piece of the puzzle (what they are saying and what I am sensing) do not match up. If I am prompted to share with them some information then I will try to make an appropriate suggestion and share with them what I see or sense. What they choose to do with the information that I share with them is up to them.
Needless to say, this can be an exhausting experience for me, especially if the person is a talker and goes in to the never ending details. Since I am experiencing more than just hearing what they are saying I can also feel what they are feeling (this is what an empath does). You may understand why I choose to limit how many people I meet as I may have been processing other people’s feelings while I am with them. I also need my alone time which gives me time to process my own life and feelings and, thankfully, I have learned how to turn the volume up, down and off over the years which helps me deal with certain situations. My level of sensitivity is possibly more pronounced in some ways but I think it is because I listen more intently on more levels than most people. I can walk in to a room and sense what has happened or touch an object and sense information from it (psychometry). Basically, I receive the information usually in a video/movie format ~ the message is sent usually without sound but with many dimensions of emotions which surpasses the quality of the experience of the sound you hear from a surround sound home theater.
One of my most memorable moments was when I was living on Martha’s Vineyard over twenty years ago. I was working in the gift shop for the summer season when a middle aged man walked in wearing a trench coat and, as he opened the door, I heard the voice of God tell me “Teach him how to pray.” After a few moments of juggling with my ego and wondering how in the heck I was going to bring up the conversation the moment presented itself before me.
The man meandered through the small bayside shop wandering up and down the aisles as if he was seeking something and sensing where to go. He eventually walked up to where I was sitting at the counter, and my heart was beating faster knowing what I was going to do though not knowing how I was going to do it. He politely chatted with me for a few minutes with the typical pleasantries though I noticed it seemed as if he were waiting for me to say something to him. A few long pauses occurred and, as he waited for me to respond, he then told me that as he was walking past the gift shop he felt compelled to walk in though he didn’t know why he was feeling this way.
As he shared his short story with me, I nodded my head and was stunned to find that he was being brought to me just as I was being told what needed to be done. He then asked me “do you know what that is?” I delivered the message of how to pray in that moment in time. I could see his heart was lifted as he smiled and told me that the message was the very thing that he needed to hear that day. He left a very happy customer and thanked me for the gift. I never knew the man’s name or where he came from but he seemed to know where he was going with the message he received.
Since that time I have learned to allow the moments to happen and, if I am prompted to share the message, then I do. I have learned many techniques since then and I am grateful for the years of testing to prove to me that what I heard was not my ego but the voice of God. I believe that is what the testing moments are for ~
Hopefully, this gives you a better understanding of how I work with my abilities in order to better understand and communicate with other people. The subject of the October newsletter will address the basics of how I work with a client before and during a soul reading.
As always, please feel free to forward this newsletter to a friend or family member you think would enjoy reading it or possibly making an appointment.
Enjoy the last of these summer days…and thank you for being here!
